OnePlus has officially confirmed that its upcoming Nord series smartphones—the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord 5 CE—will be launched on July 8, 2025. The global unveiling is scheduled for 2 PM IST. In addition to these two models, the company is likely to announce other products during the same event.
OnePlus is expected to showcase the OnePlus Buds 4, a possible successor to its current wireless earbud line, during the launch. Leaks also suggest the introduction of the OnePlus Watch 3 and the OnePlus Pad Lite, expanding the brand’s product ecosystem.
The Nord 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and feature a 7300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. The company claims the device will support Call of Duty: Mobile at 60 frames per second and offer gaming at a 144Hz refresh rate, aiming at mobile gaming enthusiasts.
Unlike its predecessor Nord 4, which used a metal frame, the Nord 5 will feature a matte-finish body in either glass or plastic. The rear design includes a dual-camera system aligned vertically. Two color options—Blue and White—have been confirmed via promotional images.
The Nord 5 is expected to sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The Nord 5 CE may feature a slightly smaller 6.7-inch OLED screen. For processing, the CE model will reportedly include the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset.
OnePlus appears to be focusing on improved battery life. The Nord 5 may carry a 6700mAh battery, while the Nord 5 CE could pack a larger 7100mAh unit, marking a significant leap from the previous generation.
With multiple products lined up for a single-day launch and noteworthy upgrades in performance, display, and battery life, OnePlus aims to strengthen its position in the mid-range smartphone segment. More official specifications and pricing details are expected to be revealed at the July 8 event.
